Meet Jay and Dee Epstein

Jay and Dee Epstein

Jay and Dee Epstein have been involved with the Phoenix Zoo for more than 25 years. In the beginning, they would come for their own enjoyment; later, for their children; and now, for their grandchildren.

The have enjoyed many stories at the Phoenix Zoo. A family favorite involves their now 21-year-old grandson. When he was much younger, he was standing near the giraffe exhibit and eating an apple, while the giraffe admired the apple. Because of their influence, Jay and Dee's 11-year-old grandson is planning on becoming a herpetologist, a zoologist that specialized in reptiles and amphibians.

During their estate planning process, the Epstein's decided to support the Phoenix Zoo's future and join the Antler Society. The Antler Society consists of special friends who have named the Zoo in their will or estate plans. They also provide annual support, which qualifies them as members in the Guardian Club, where they receive privileges that include daily admission to the Zoo and invitations to exclusive events and special animal experiences.

Jay and Dee are leaving their legacy through their financial support in annual and planned gifts. They are also leaving their legacy by teaching their children, grandchildren and future generations to care for the natural world.
